I purchased a ticket for my daughters for A Madea movie that started at 7:05pm. Dropped them off at 6:30pm.

Got a call from my oldest daughter who is 18 that my 8 year old could not go to the movie because someone had to be with them of the age 21 of the mover STARTS after 8. Well the movie started at 7:05 and is 1 hr and 41 minutes long. So why can she NOT stay? The manager was very nasty and so was the representatives.

My daughter was crying and very upset. I advised her that it was not on the website about the age and time but she insisted that due to the previous riot from 2014 , kids under 18 could not be at the movies after 8:00pm. AGAIN sheโ€™s with her sister who is 18 and in college to study law. Manager showed no empathy at all towards my kids.

Did not offer a refund and i even asked was it a movie that started at 6ish that they could see and she refused to let hem in. Now my first instinct wouldnโ€™t that it was racist.

You be the judge. This was in Jacksonville Florida at the regal cinema located at 12884 City Center Blvd.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Jacksonville has a strict curfew law regarding minors being out past 11pm, so it makes sense that a theatre would make the cutoff 8pm to allow for different runtimes of the movies. To theatres, a guardian must be at least 21 years of age, as with the rated-R policy, so this seems like a blending of the two.

Also, we can't be the judge of whether someone was racist or not or even if this was fair or not because we weren't there and haven't heard both sides. What an odd prompt...

You're lucky they didn't do what my pals and I did in 1967.

We were dropped off at the theatre.

Waited in line for tickets, sold out before they got to us.

Ride gone, we proceeded to explore an area of town that was unfamiliar to us and a little scary even by 1967 standards.

And I only had use of one arm because of a broken clavicle.

Hours of fun but were we in for it when we let the truth slip to Ma.
