It's not a forced search if you are allowed to leave if you don't consent. If you go to an establishment or even just someone's house, you're expected to abide by their rules for their private property or you'll be asked to leave.

Regal Cinemas Movie Ticket Review from Hollywood, Florida

Theatre in Southland Mall, cutler ridge, horrible customer service, customers are always left out, movie starts in 10 minutes, no rep at the window... 10 people waiting outside, so when we finally have the pleasure of being able to buy a ticket, we go to consession stand and wait for the people ahead of us to finish ordering, order get our food and miss 5 minutes of the actual movie, forget about the previews.....

Rude staff and filthy theater

I was at your theater last weekend (Scranton/Dickson City, PA), as I often am, when I noticed the sign about backpacks and bags now being checked. I'm actually thrilled with that, as I had a distant family member in the theater during one of the recent tragic shootings and I myself was a victim of a violent crime. However, I do NOT carry a backpack or a purse due to health issues...I simply carry a very small wallet (so small it fits in the front pocket of my jeans). I was RUDELY FORCED to open it. Men were not asked to take out their wallets from their pants. Women who had gigantic bags simply had to open then with a brief glance given; they weren't asked to take out their wallets. I feel as though I was singled out AND RUDELY treated. I spoke to two lawyers and the local sheriff's department to find out what happened to me is borderline illegal. I go to your theater often, as opposed to others in the area, due to more convenient times. However, it has really gone down hill with cleanliness and temperature. A few weeks ago gum was on several seats and three separate seats were wet with who knows what! That is unacceptable, as how I was treated. I want to continue to patron Regal, but feel I cannot do so after how I was treated...staff really should be trained on what is and is not appropriate, and cleaning needs to be improved.

INVASION OF PRIVACY AT THE MOVIES??? What's next???

Last night, I went to the movies with my husband, and our bags were searched. We were told this is a new Regal Policy. I asked what they were looking for, and was told weapons, but when I asked if there had been some kind of incident, I was told, "No." I don't know if Regal is taking a political stance against legal carry laws or if they want to make sure we aren't sneaking in Dim Sum instead of being trapped into their ridiculously over-priced concessions, but either way, so long as this policy is in place, I will vote with my feet and my wallet, and go elsewhere. I hope anyone reading this will follow suit.

I have been hearing stories from female friends of mine lately stating that Regal cinemas is searching through their bags and purses and confiscating anything which they deem as "food or beverages", including gum and breath mints. This is crooked, illegal, embarrassing...

Your staff searched my purse today. My bag has 5 zippers.

They only looked in one part. Yet nobody cares what's in anybody's pockets.

This is an excuse to make sure nobody is smuggling in a snickers bar. Either search everybody or search nobody

I have this *** birthday coupon and since its four days before my birthday i can't use it. They act like these things don't go to the same place. Talking about his bosses and HR being upset like they know my birthday. Something that should've been free cost me and I'm upset. Not coming here again!

Regal Cinemas - Manager Review from Bremerton, Washington

Served me old cold popcorn, said they would bring me new popcorn. Brought me the same old *** cold popcorn again and when I complained again they swore it was fresh when I said take a piece and tell me it's fresh they said no . I left to take a *** the Manager followed to the bathroom to insist the cold old popcorn was "fresh" ?? We left the movie demanded a refund. Refunded our tickets but NOT the money for last night stale popcorn. My advice.. SEEFILM BREMERTON !!

Last night when at the movie theater in the McCain mall, I overheard a female employee in a black blazer say to a police officer, "Are you going to go out there and taze him or do I need to come out this jacket?". I am aware that policemen and women carry weapons to enforce the law, although it was very unsettling to know that this woman would encourage that type of violence at that place and time especially considering the fact I had my nieces with me. The police officer brushed off her ignorant and unprofessional remark. After last night, I wouldn't mind taking the long drive to Little Rock just to watch a movie.

Regal Cinemas Manager Review

Becareful with the popcorn - unused popcorn is stored in the backroom. It gets mixed with the newer popcorn. I dont know how many pieces of jewelry were lost when scooping out the popcorn. Bobby the General Manager is not a pleasant person. I dont know why Regal would put someone rude in a position of power.

Southglenn Regal Cinemas, Centennial, CO ruined our New Year's Eve!

Regal Southglenn, Centennial, CO ruined our New Year's Eve! We paid $31 online for premium seating with intention of having a drink and dinner while viewing "Unbroken". We arrived early & ordered drinks & dinner in the premium seating lobby with the server. After 20 min. without our drinks arriving we decided to seat ourselves in the theater since it was 10 min before showtime. My husband paid our server with credit card in advance & when he went to pick up his beer while walking into the theater it had no head and was warm. He handed it back to the server at the bar to be replaced. I use the theater's provided closed captioning device for hearing impaired and when I tried to connect into the theater it only registered "searching". I asked the server to send an usher to help me--no results. I took the device out to the restaurant lobby & gave it to the manager & he said he would replace it. Long story short.....our food order NEVER ARRIVED, one drink was delivered in a styrofoam cup & server explained that the beer keg was being changed out but it never arrived either! After THREE requests (2 of them directly to the upstairs theater manager) to fix my closed captioning device it was never replaced or even returned so I missed a great deal of the movie dialog! My husband ended up purchasing drinks in the main lobby & carrying them upstairs to our "premium seating". When he asked for the General Manager the manager in the lobby said he was in back and not available. My husband asked for his money back and the upstairs manager asked him to "trust me" that he would run the refund through on his Mastercard. Obviously our experience was so exasperating that he demanded the money back in cash and received it. We did not enjoy the movie because both of us had to leave & come back so many times to ask about our drinks, our meals, and the closed captioning device, plus we left the theater hungry and angry! DON'T PAY FOR "PREMIUM SEATING" AND DON'T TRY TO HAVE DINNER OR A DRINK...... As a matter of fact, just don't patronize this theater until they get their act together. It wasn't this way when it was a HOLLYWOOD theater chain!

Regal Cinemas Modesto CA

I drove 20 minutes to meet a PARTY of friends to see a movie that started at 10:40pm (looked up), I arrived at 10:54pm, and the manager laughed while telling me that nothing can be done. Numerous times she laughed, argued at me, then went to the back and shut her door. Even AFTER my party came out and explained that the movie had not even started and they were nearly the only individuals in the theater. Employees were even dismayed. COMPLETELY APPALLED at the service of a MANAGER and an $8 movie ticket. I will NOT be back, and hope this "manager" is taken out of her position.

Honestly, I wish more cinemas would stop allowing late arrivals. It is very discourteous to those of us who have arrived on time and are seated, just to have rude latecomers, milling about the theater, trying to find seats, getting settled in, etc.

To the OP: You are unclear if you actually had paid.

If you had already paid and had ticket in hand, then that is their fault and they should have allowed you to go on in but advised you future going, no more late arrivals. But if you are just complaining about ticket prices in general, well, I don't know anyone who likes paying today's bloated ticket prices.

I drove a long way to meet friends who had been there and met me outside. Movie started at 10:40 and I arrived, in the door, at 10:54. If you've been to a movie, you know previews last 10-15mins. Also, as mentioned, my party explained they were nearly the only in there.

I understand "rude latecomers" DURING the film, but not previews. And how about rude managers.?

Laughing in my face then locking the door between my party and I after being kicked out. HM....
