Choking Baby's Family Kicked Out Of Movie!

My family (7 in total; 4 adults, 2 teenagers and an baby) and I went to the movies to see "Catching Fire" , and within an hour into the movie, the youngest (9 month old) began to choke. Two complaints were submitted based on their perception that we were making noise, but the true/false was we were making noise BUT it was due to our efforts to help the baby breath! We were asked to leave. Very disappointed! We offered suggestions that were more proactive as it pertains to small children attending a matinee, we even submitted a complaint to Regal Corporate as well as Atlantic Station, to no avail. When someone decides to offer a major corporation some honest feedback, they should decide to listen.

I think if your baby is choking, you should not continue to watch the movie and should go out to the main area at least so you can see better and get proper help for your baby....and...so you don't disturb other people....

#763808

Same crazy complaint again! No one agrees with you!

We think you are STRANGE!!!! :upset

#752660

Good gawd, the baby was choking and instead of taking it out of the theatre to assist its breathing and make sure it's okay, you complain and blame the theater? You have no business producing children.

#857889
@PissedConsumer752660

Employees.should not troy to these

#752574

Babies don't belong in theaters. Period.

I pay for my movie and don't care to listen to your kid wail.

ALL babies make noise so keep them out of movie theaters. There ARE other people you know.

#752418

What was the baby choking on and why didn't a couple adults take the baby out to a restroom or something?

Theater was discustingly filthy

The cloth seats were stained and filthy didn't even want to sit in them. The smell in the whole theater was discusting I was freezing through the whole movie like the heat was not on. We went to see Vegas at 7:15 pm. On nov 18th 2013. The popcorn was old and cold the whole experience was the worst I have ever had in a theater. They really need to redo the whole place with washable seating. I would like my money back I'm under the assumption that corporate never monitors this theater or has it professionaly cleaned! Overall pissed it was my birthday date night

Appualing

To Whom It May Concern: I visited one of your establishments a few weeks ago with my husband. We went to see The Conjure; upon purchasing my tickets, I realized that the prices had changed so I asked the ticket clerk why? “he replied”, it is because the theatre is in IMAX, so I said what if I did not want to see it in the IMAX theatre. He stated it was the only one playing, and you can go some where else to see the movie if you don’t want to pay that price. First, I work extremely hard for my money. (I am in the US NAVY) for someone to tell me that either, I had to pay that price or go some where else; if I did not like it. I felt disrespected and I thought that if this company has someone like this working in there establishment the he would deter their customers to take their business someone else. Not please with the service I was given. Thank you for your time

WTF? You felt disrespected?

So...he was supposed to do what? Say "Oh, you think the price is too high?

I'll be happy to let you pay a lower price than everyone else" I mean seriously? What a bunch of nonsense.

Kicked out of movie theater

We bought our tickets my 17 year old friend and I to a rated R movie. We went into the theater and an employee followed us into the theater asked to see out ticket stubs and told is to leave because he thought we were too young even though we showed our ID to buy the tickets. The guy was a complete *** and regal cinemas has lost my business. The guy followed us out of the movie theater and told the ticket booth employee to not let us back into the theaters. We are both 17 and legally able to see a rated R movie.

There is a game that is always played on weekends at the theater concerning R-rated movies. It is called "have an adult buy my tickets for me".

This is likely what happened, which was why the employee was probably following you in the first place. Do you think you are the first "genius" to try this weak game?? Either one of you was not 17 or did not have an ID, otherwise there would be no reason for the employee to follow you and remove you. Did you speak to a manager?

Don't tell me you didn't because an employee told you to leave because that is BS.

Admit it, you tried to pull the wool over their eyes and got caught. Deal with it!!

Elysium is rated PG-13 so the placement of the Metallica trailer was not inappropriate. The IMAX experience consists of enhanced (louder), and more realistic sound.

The purpose of IMAX is to give the viewer the feeling that they are a part of what is happening on screen.

Also keep in mind that while the sound may have been loud to you, it may have been acceptable for all of the other patrons. It is selfish to think that just because you felt the sound was loud, it should be adjusted to accommodate YOU, and not take the other paying customers into consideration.

Yellow blotches on screen ruined movie experience

My wife and I finally got a date night, and we chose to do dinner and a movie. We went to Regal Cinema’s Hollywood Theatre in Columbia, MO, to see The Wolverine. We bought the tickets ($19.00) and went to the concession stand. I was confused that I didn’t see any combo deals for a drink and popcorn, so I asked the cashier. He said “Sure, it’s $12.50.” I’m usually pretty quick, but the lack of sleep that comes with raising a baby made me too slow to realize this is the regular price of a large drink and large popcorn. I really can’t complain about this – I should have done the simple math and realized that was too much food for me and my wife. So we went to the theatre, and about 30 minutes in I realized there were three large yellow blotches across the screen. I don’t know how I didn’t notice them at first (I guess the lack of sleep really did take an effect on me). In any event, for the rest of the movie, that’s all I could notice, and it just ruined it for me. I felt even worse to find out afterwards that my wife had the same experience. Good movie, but you can’t really get lost in it when all you see is yellow blotches. I sent in a complaint through the Regal website, but I haven’t heard back yet. I was hoping we could have this made up to us in some way. Honestly, with the choices we have in town, a simple gesture from Regal could go a long way in making us loyal customers.

I don't particularly like Regal, but I can explain the issue. Regal just bought Hollywood Theaters and there's been a lot of issues with the transfer.

Many Hollywood Theaters were in disrepair due to bankruptcy within the business due to attempting to keep up with the digital conversion. Regal is making slow progress to getting the theaters in better shape. They are just having to prioritize the issues.

Give them time. Chances are other theaters at that location are in better shape.

Rejected me tickets due to my "attitude"

I used to be an employee at this theater, every time I go to see a movie there they ignore me and treat me like an ***, because they KNOW they can get away with it. I came in and stood at the service desk for 15 minutes, movie started 10 minutes ago. The assistant Manager Moises Hararri finally came and I told him my opinion on management and how terrible they are, that they treat ex employees like *** when I AM NOW A PATRON, A "GUEST", A "CUSTOMER". They are supposed to treat me with respect, he refused me passes because "I had an attitude", I then said I don't believe this, I am a paying customer you can't treat me that way and I said I will notify corporate about this. He said "I don't care, you're not getting tickets because of your attitude". I WANT TO SEE ACTION AGAINST HOW THESE GANGSTERS TREAT PAST EMPLOYEES. It's SO DISRESPECTFUL.

How are you a paying customer when you state that the Asst. Manager refused to give you passes??

It sounds like you had an attitude because you had to pay for a movie instead of see one for free, which is a benefit that current employees enjoy not ex employees. Your lucky that all he did was refuse to give you passes.

It sounds to me that you are the ***, not the theater. Loose that feeling of entitlement and grow the *** up.

#747936

You waited 15 minutes to tell them they are ***** and you want us to believe that they are the problem? Everyone knows what would happen in that situation before the manager got over to you.

Sounds like someone hasn't learned their lesson about the real world yet! Better luck next job.

Sounds like you were the disrespectful one. Good for Regal for not putting up with your temper tantrum!

I can see why you no longer work there. Fired, perhaps?

"The Heat"

First of all, waiting to show the movie at 4:10pm instead of before 4:00 (there was plenty of time to start the show after the 12:40PM showing - was just to make more money. Whatever happened to 6:00 being the matinee time? Then to have to sit through 26 MINUTES of coming attrations is rediculous. Two or three coming attractions is enough for Pete Sake. By the time the movie started I was having trouble sitting that long. Doesn't make one want to go to the movies very often. So now I have to keep writing nonsense so I have 100 words?

Theaters show so many trailers and advertisements before a movie for 2 reasons:

1. The ads and the concession stand are where the theater makes their money. They make little to no money on ticket purchases.

2. They are instructed, and sometimes threatened, by the studio that is releasing the film to place the trailers on the front of the feature. It is not the theaters decision. By threaten I am saying that a studio may threaten to not show a big movie like Hunger Games in their theaters if they do not play the trailer for Tyler Perry's movie in front of certain features.

Keep in mind that while a theater is there as a means of entertainment, they are also a business. Being a business their main goal is to make a profit.

#702988

As a projectionist I can explain this, there is a minimum of twenty minutes between showing due to contracts with NCM (the advertisements before the movie), there is also fifteen to twenty minutes of those previews/advertisements, and floor staff is supposed to be out of the theater before that starts. When the manager is making the schedule it's a difficult balancing act because they have to get a certain number of showings of each movie, each day.

As for the coming attractions, when a theater receives a movie they are told by the production companies and distributor how many trailers, which ones, and in what order.

The theater doesn't have a choice. NCM is also non-negotiable.

What I find absolutely ridiculous is that you allegedly graduated but obviously have no grasp on grammar and the proper use of certain words. Also, how do you not have a state ID?

What happens if you get in a car accident and are unconscious? How are the paramedics or police supposed to know who to contact or who you are? While you may legally be an adult, your immaturity concerning being responsible enough to get legal identification proves that you were likely not mature enough to see the movie. Does your school ID have your age or birthday listed on it.

If it is similar to the majority of school ID's than it does not, so how does your school ID prove your age? Don't tell me your grade will prove your age because students have skipped grades or be held back. And to say that you obviously are of age is ridiculous. Are you telling me that if I lined of 10 people of various ages you would be able to accurately tell me all of their ages.

The odds are more likely that you will be incorrect on all 10.

Grow up and follow the rules like everyone else. If you do not want to follow the rules of the establishment than go somewhere else.

Very unhappy with Patrick.Mcfarland

I had visited the Regal Cinema sixteen here in anchorage Alaska for the twelve p.m. showing off The End of the World. It was very late starting. It was suppose to start at I believe 12:11. It did not start for another ten more minutes. We sat there and sat there. I then went up to the concession stand and told a employee what was going on in audiotorium number ten. It then started but then the volume for the movie turned off and some music came on. I then went out there and told them again. A female manager told me to save my ticket and she will issue me a free pass for next time. After the movie was over. I had a chat with the manager by the name of Patrick.Mcfarland. He thought that I was lying about the whole thing at first. He said that he did get it running for which he was wrong. He told me that he cannot issue a free movie pass even though I told him that the other manager said that it was okay. Patrick was very rude to me and he called me a lier and told me to leave and don't come back, for which I was very shock to hear that from a manager. From this day forward. I will never visit that theater again and will be posting on facebook and other websites to others to do the same.

As a projectionist I can maybe smooth the situation. If you think 35mm projectors were fickle, digital is worse.

Digital projectors are really bad about the sound coming on. They may have been fighting the issue all day. Think of it as an over-sized computer.

When something goes wrong it's a very big deal and never a quick fix. It's not a good reason to be short with a customer, but it does explain his attitude.

Another Poor Customer Service from Regal Theater Management on Ring Rd

This is the second complaint I have submitted on this theater in the last few weeks. I don't know why I continue to frequent this theater; it must be because there are only a few people that frequent the theater and I don't like crowds. But, as a Regal Club member I am compelled to complain because of the theater management's disregard for theater goer comfort. My wife and I watched the Iron Man 3 1:20 PM movie in theater hall 3 on 6/15/13. Upon walking into theater 3, the environment was warmer than the hallway. After sitting down for a minute waiting for the movie to start my forehead became moist. I went to the popcorn counter and spoke with the theater supervisor to inform her that the ventilation/air conditioning needed to be checked because of the heat. She indicated she would check into it. I returned to the movie. While the movie was running, I asked my wife if she felt any cooler' the response was no. I had been drinking a cold drink and felt a little better but that compensated for the heat in the theater. Also, I thought that it may take sometime for the A/C to bring the temperature under control. Following the movie, I again spoke with management about the results of my earlier request. She stated the A/C unit filters were plugged and needed some work. I then offered some customer feedback; it would have been nice if she had come to theater 3 and at least let me know that the ventilation was not going to be repaired and whether I wanted an option to either stay and watch the movie, watch another movie being shown, or receive a voucher for a future movie. This would have been appropriate customer service. I, as a customer would have appreciated the response to my request. My customer feedback to this Mgr was based on previous experience at the same theater. About a year ago, this condition existed in one of the other movie halls and that Mgr did offer the above option, which we chosen to receive a future movie voucher and left the theater. Today, this manager looked at me like I had 2 heads and did not care for my feedback. She did not say a word, so I left theater with another poor experience that this theater. Customer service is severely lacking in this theater and it should be addressed by the corporate office.

You always have the option to leave, nobody is making you stay. How would someone coming in to inform you that there was an AC issue, which you already knew about based on the temperature in the theater, have an effect on whether or not you stay.

If you were that uncomfortable than you should have gotten your money back and left. It obviously was not too uncomfortable because you stayed to watch the entire movie.

Matinee pricing INCREASE

Our local Regal Cinema (Colony Square) just DOUBLED it's matinee prices. Perhaps it's an attempt at increasing revenues before putting the theater on the market? They have not made any improvements to the theater in quite some time, and apparently don't mind sending would-be customers to competitors (AMC, Cinemark and local venues in nearby Boulder, Broomfield, and Westminster) By the way, I attempted to file a complaint on the website indicated, but there is no customer service option there (or at the theaters themselves apparently). Likewise by phone. total dead end! When you start to file a complaint on this site, you are given the option to register a complaint directly with Cinemark. The link takes you to their website where you get an error message.

Can't Use You Rewards

I want to start by saying I am not one to complain. Honestly, I'd much rather just never return to an establishment if I feel like the service was poor. The experience I had tonight (6/13) was so poorly handled I felt it neccessary to say something. I like the Regal Crown Club, its something I use every time I go out with my wife. In April we saw a movie and we decided to save the free popcorn for a future visit. I noticed the ticket said it would be expiring on June 20th and decided to cash it in on the way to see "This Is The End" with some friends. When I got to the cashier I asked if I could upgrade my popcorn to the largest size for the $2 upcharge. She swiped my card and immediately asked the manager near her to help her since it was "expired." She told me it expired in April which I has already seen that was not the case. The manager (whos name I could not see) scanned my ticket and said "its already been used" followed by him ripping up the ticket and walking away. I was in shock that there was no explanation or talking about it, just a tear up and walk away. Firstly if I had cashed that in before shouldnt the cashier take that ticket and discard it? Secondly had I already used it and come back in with the same ticket whos fault is that for not destroying it? I like Customer service, I have been working the same call center job for 3 years and genuinely enjoying helping people get desireable results. I work hard to earn money to spend $11-$25 at the movies. I just wish tonight I was just given the courtesy of a conversation. Even for them to say "hey, if this was used before then we should have thrown this out, popcorns on us." Why spend my money at Regal when I can go to the much cheaper Carmike where they are much more pleasant to deal with?

If the coupon was used before why would Regal owe you a free anything? Doesn't matter whose fault it was, in fact, it was a mistake.

Regal makes all their profit from concession sales. The power, the heat, the rent for the building, the staff, the benefits ALL come from your popcorn sales.

They get nothing from ticket sales just an FYI. So you may understand why getting a free pass to an interrupted movie is a little more warranted then you getting a free popcorn because someone gave you your coupon back...

Incorrect movie times

This is the third time I've checked the newspaper for movie times and gone to the theater only to find there is no movie showing at the time noted in the paper. Spoke to the manager, AGAIN, and am told it isn't Regal's fault. So whose fault is it? Who gives the movie times to the newspaper? I don't know why I need one hundred words to explain this to you. The rest of this "what happened" is merely filler so I can submit this complaint and who knows, maybe someone will pay attention to this post. Doubt it seriously.

The same things has happened to me.recently. On 3 different occasions the movie times has been listed incorrectly.

This has never happened before.

What is going on? It is becoming very frustrating to go the movies.

#702996

It's the newspaper's fault. We had the same problem at my location.

They would occasionally call, but they sometimes used a website that was not linked directly with Regal.

The safest bet would be use Fandango or the Regal App. They are both really good and always have the right times.
