I attended a 2:50 showing of Oppenheimer on Last Sunday and we were assigned seats. I arrived at the theatre and found my seat occupied and was told by this person they werent giving up my seats because someone took theirs and that I should find somewhere else to sit.
I went to look for someone from the theatre to help but aside from the ticket checker, who was busy checking tickets, and the people at concession stand, there was no one to be found who could help. Nobody in the ticket office bc it was automated, nobody in the guest services area, I dont know why, so I went back to the movie with my friend and searched in the dark, bc the movie had started by this time, for 2 seats that werent taken. This was a completely full showing so I ended up finding one seat all the way at the top and my friend found one seat all the way on bottom and on the opposite side. This experience completely ruined my first trip back to a theatre since Covid began in 2020.
I was so excited bc I really wanted to see this movie on a big screen and bc this has always been my go to place for movies. We shared one medium popcorn between us so you can imagine how that went with us on opposite sides and one up top, one on the bottom. I specifically chose seating behind the handicap section bc my friend is 63 and a heavy guy and needed as much room as possible so Im very disappointed at how this went. After half an hour I saw other people coming in with an employee to claim seats but by this time I just didnt want to bother with moving.
I did not enjoy the experience and while I miss the theatre idk if its even worth the headache. Just ruined what was a big day for me and my friend. I was angry and found it very hard to enjoy the movie.
Maybe someone shouldve been available to assist with seating when we were all coming in, but that opportunity is lost. Im sure your company can figure out a way to resolve because Im not happy at all.
